Lyra
Read MoreLyra is a once in a lifetime dog to me. She is a wonderful companion who will always have a special place in my heart.
Lyra is an exceptional athlete and excels on the lure coursing field. She was the #5 lure coursing hound in Canada in 2004. In 2005, she finished as #2. In 2006 and 2007 lure coursing took a back seat to child rearing as we welcomed our daughter into our family. In 2008, Lyra got a late start but came back strong in a tie for #9. In 2009, after her first litter of pups, she once again took the #5 spot, proving her excellence and consistency on the field.Lyra is a very feminine bitch, elegant in every way. She is curvy with a beautiful head and wonderful expression. I have not shown her much as the field has always been a priority over the show ring. Whereas some owners refuse to run their dogs for fear of injuring them lure coursing, I refrained from showing for fear of losing too much conditioning going to dog shows. I have since learned to find a comfortable balance. Over time I have come to appreciate the great skill involved in handling and the importance of good conformation to function. Lyra is pointed in the show ring with six points towards her Canadian Champion title.
Lyra's health clearances were normal for CERF, BAER, Cardiac, and thyroid.
